Identification:The
undercoat of the mountain goat is thick and woolly, and the upper coat
is longer. The horns are black, and the goat also has a spongy inner pad
on its hoof for gripping rocks.

goats breed from November to January and are thought to be monogamous.

Behavior:When
males are fighting over a female, they do not run at each other and
butt heads. Rather, they stand side-by-side and stab each other's
flanks.
