Identification:The grey fox has a gray agouti coat, a white throat, and a black-tipped mane along the top of its tail.
Habitat:Woodlands, brush country, rocky terrain
Diet:Omnivore: birds, invertebrates, fruit, berries, small mammals, fish, reptiles, eggs
Reproduction:Grey foxes mate in February or March. A litter of 3-7 pups is produced after a gestation period of 51 days. These animals can live for up to ten years in captivity.
The most common social unit is the family group with two adults and their pups. During the winter, gray foxes are solitary.
Behavior:This species is nocturnal and can be very territorial.
